The beach of Rethymnon town is one of the most beautiful sandy beaches of Crete. Its length is over 2 km with high sand and clear blue water like exotic.
The beach has been awarded the Blue Flag in 2012. The beach is fully organized with sun loungers, many chairs, locker room, showers, lifeguards, beach bars, restaurants, water sports and all kinds of shops. At this beach, as generally in the north of Rethymnon, lay their eggs the protected turtles caretta caretta, that makes also the wonderful sandy beach of Rethymnon unique.
