Plaka is a picturesque seaside village 16 km north of Saint Nicholas. Plaka has two beaches. Agia Marina beach at Plaka is located south of the village just below the hotel Blue Palace.
Agia Marina Beach is organized by the hotel that manages it. The beach can be reached by following a path from the hotel. The beach is of coarse pebbles and crystal clear waters, the bottom of the sea is also pebbly. The second beach at Plaka is located after the village and it is open to all visitors. This beach is pebbly too. The beach is organized with sun umbrellas, showers, and lovely taverns with traditional food and overlooking the island of Spinalonga. Plaka is a place you must visit.
