Beach Apovathra (platform ) is located at the center of Ierapetra pricey side of the Fortress Kale.
Apovathra is a very beautiful beach with thick sand and clear waters. Apovathra beach is well organized with umbrellas, shower chairs while at greater length is full of taverns and cafes. This beach is mostly preferred by local residents of Ierapetra with their families and their children for a refreshing swim without the need of moving the city. If you do not like the chairs and the organization of the eastern part of the beach has no amenities. The seaside road beside Apovathra beach is ideal for an afternoon walk.
