Sarandaris beach

Sarantaris or Sarandaris beach is located 25 km east of Heraklion tonw and 1 km west of Hersonissos.
Sarantaris beaches are consecutive bays starting from Akrotiri Sarantaris and continue east as the port of Hersonissos were is the first beach of Hersonisos. The main beach Sarantaris which is the most beautiful is organized with umbrellas, shower chairs with beautiful exotic sandy bottom ideal for children. Next to this beach there are restaurants and mini markets canteen. Continuing north to Cape Sarantaris you can find the nudist beach which has some sand and many rocks and is protected from prying eyes by the tall cliffs. Further north near the picturesque church of St. George facing the peninsula of Hersonossos you will find some rocks and a jetty but and a bit of golden sand where you can swim. Here is much less crowded and quieter. In Sarantaris as in many northeastern beaches of Heraklion, sometimes the beach have seaweed, which spoils the picture of this unique beach. The whole area of Sarantaris is very beautiful with many hotels and tavernas cafes and is ideal for people who want to be close but at the same time quietly in one of the regions of Greece with the most people who entertained around the clock.
