Karteros beach
Karteros beach is located 7 km east of Heraklion town. Karteros beach is a long beautiful sandy beach with clear waters vulnerable to winds.
The beach is organized with umbrellas, shower chairs, lifeguard. Karteros has a remarkable tourist development with many hotels shops of all kinds, and many entertainment options. Karteros takes its name from the Byzantine general Katero who in 824 landed in beach to liberate Crete from the Saracens. Here are some beautiful beach bar as well the summer army club.
