Agia Marina beach
Agia Marina is a seaside resort village 9 km from the town of Chania with more than two kilometres of sandy beach (awarded with Blue Flag).
The beach is well organized, with sun beds, umbrellas, showers and lifeguards. Throughout its length is filled with all kinds of shops, restaurants, taverns, mini markets and many of hotels. The sea of Aghia Marina has shallow waters ideal for children and the coast consists of fine sand except in the west bordering with the beach of Platanias where there are some artificial bays with rocks. The waters are crystal clear and warm. It is always recommended to follow the instructions of the lifeguards. The beach of Agia Marina is one of the most cosmopolitan beaches of Crete. Here are found some of the best Beach bars of Hania (Costa Costa, Sand & Sun, Ocean, Savvy, Mermaid). Opposite the beach of Agia Marina is located the protected isle of St. Theodore, where lives the Cretan goat. The small island is not accessible.
